Section: Rehabilitation for children with physical disabilities
Providing health procedures for children with physical disabilities; after a consultation with specialist and immediate epicrisis they will be included in individual rehabilitation programs and physiotherapeutic procedures to improve their health condition through different motion exercises for achieving correct posture and strength of the muscles, development of the reflexes and balance; for developing agility, orientation and lithness.
After a declared interest for using the rehabilitation services of the Center, the rehabilitator will make an evaluation and observation for a period of 4 weeks and after that will elaborate individual rehabilitation program, with up to 6 months duration. According to the child’s disability in the program will be appointed what kind of work must be done and what are the expectations – for example to be able to hold objects with all 5 fingers or to stand on its feet for couple of minutes etc.
Medical rehabilitation – will be conducted by interdisciplinary team - retaliator; physiotherapist speech therapist and it will include:
- physical therapy – recovery or improvement of the injured motion or other functions;
- speech and visual therapy – recovery or improvement of the injured motion or other functions;
- physiotherapy – trains the lost or damaged physical, mental and cognition functions and gives a chance for achieving maximum level of independence;
- social rehabilitation – establishing of conditions for complete and social inclusion, reducing of the social isolation; improving of the social skills of the target group for leading complete way of life;
- psychotherapy – mobilizes the individual psychosomatic potential and provides psychological support to children with disabilities and their families and relatives to overcome the psychological problems and for adaptation to the condition of chronic illness and / or disability.
- Socialization, sport activities and free time – introducing different community objects, traditions and festivals, forming communication and group work skills, orientation abilities and traffic rules.
